2024 VIBC Events

We are happy to announce the nearly complete VIBC event schedule for 2024! While some events are still to be confirmed, we wanted to pass the schedule along so that you have the opportunity to put the dates in your calendar. 

Some feedback that we’ve received over the last few years is that folks prefer multi-day events, so most of the events this year will be over weekends.  In order to keep these simple, folks will be charged a rate for the whole weekend, regardless of whether or not they stay for multiple nights. Cost of events will continue to be matched to the cost of camping, while working in a bit of a buffer to account for things such as fire wood, as well as to cover overhead.

We will continue to use Eventbrite for registration due to its convenience and ability to take a waiting list. You can follow us on Eventbrite if you are really keen on knowing when registration starts, otherwise we’ll make an announcement via email usually about four weeks before an event. We’ll also make some posts on the Discord and our Instagram as well. 

Below is the draft schedule. If you are interested in running your own satellite event, reach out to us as we may have financial support that we can provide.

• April 12 to 14: Montague Harbour, Galiano Island

  • There are additional 20 walk in sites available that folks may be able to use if capacity for the group site is reached

• May 10 to 12: Ruckle Park, Salt Spring Island

  • capacity: 60

• June 21 to 23: Cowichan River Campground

  • capacity: 50

  • Part of Swift’s 2024 (10th Anniversary) Annual Campout

• July 19 to 21: Tribune Bay Campground - Hornby Island

  • capacity: 40

• August 16 to 19: Narvaez Bay, Saturna Island

  • capacity: 30

• late September: TBD (likely Gabriola for the 2nd Annual Apple Festival)

• early October: TBD
