VIBC 2024 Year in Review + 2025 Events!
We saw a lot of growth and achieved a number of accomplishments in 2024, including incorporated as a society with a board of directors and undertook a strategic planning process to define our direction. We launched our new website – vanislandbikepack.com – as a one stop shop for event details and some fun merch. In an effort to create a safe and welcoming space, the board collaborated to develop a code of conduct and launched an anonymous reporting tool to provide folks with a way to provide feedback. We also forged a new partnership with Reciprocity Trust in an effort to promote Indigenous Reconciliation – committing $1.50 for each ticket purchased in 2024 for a total of $462. We are committed to supporting Reciprocity Trust in the coming years and I am particularly proud of this work.
Now that we’re firmly in 2025, we wanted to share the highlights from a year of bikepacking adventures and community connection.
Year in Review – Event Stats:
May Ruckle event: 92 attendees came together for this unforgettable event.
Across 7 events, we welcomed 390 unique participants, building a stronger, more connected bikepacking community. Thank you everyone for coming out!
